An appraisal determines the value of something and without the Holy Spirit we cannot understand the true value of anything. Apart from the Spirit we will preserve the worthless and trash the priceless, but by the Spirit we can see the true value of Jesus and the wonderful redemptive work. We can truly see discarded from our minds and emotions all the clutter that seems to crowd us out of life and rest in the wide open spaces of God’s plan for us.
